Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 9, 2026
Welcome to Bedrock Manager! We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding data collection, transmission, and processing when you use our desktop application.
1. Telemetry & Product Analytics
Bedrock Manager collects limited, anonymous telemetry and product analytics to help us understand app performance, diagnose issues, and improve features. We use a privacy focused third party analytics provider. All telemetry is governed by the following privacy protections:
- Consent & Opt out Model: Telemetry is enabled by default. A disclosure notification is shown upon installation, and you can disable or enable telemetry at any time in the application settings under Settings > About > Telemetry. Toggling telemetry off stops all subsequent event tracking instantly.
- Automatic PII Scrubbing: Before any event payload leaves your computer, the application automatically sanitizes and removes Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This includes stripping local Windows/Unix paths, network folder paths, email addresses, and security tokens or API keys.
- Data Minimization: Event properties are capped at 24 keys per event, text fields are truncated to 256 characters, and error messages or stack traces are truncated to 600 characters. Complex JSON objects are excluded entirely.
The application logs only the following specific events:
app_startedandapp_exited(to track active sessions).addon_scan(duration and addon count of Minecraft directory scans).addon_install_failed(failure reasons and addon type when local installation fails).telemetry_opt_outandtelemetry_opt_in(to track configuration preferences).error(uncaught exceptions and stack traces for debugging crashes).
If the application build does not contain an active analytics key, the telemetry subsystem is completely disabled and inert.
2. Game Data & Local Storage
To function as an addon and world manager, the application actively scans, reads, and modifies files strictly
within your local Minecraft Bedrock installation directories (specifically games/com.mojang/ for
worlds, resource packs, and behavior packs). User preferences, local addon profiles, and app settings are stored
locally on your machine (typically in AppData/Roaming).
3. Cloud Sync & Accounts (Optional)
If you choose to use our optional Cloud Sync feature to synchronize metadata across devices, you must create a cloud sync account. For this feature, we collect and process the following information securely via our cloud service provider:
- Email Address and securely hashed Password.
- Username, Display Name, and your chosen Avatar Image.
- Metadata about your Minecraft Addon Profiles and Packs.
4. Cloud Backups & BYOS (Bring Your Own Storage)
Bedrock Manager allows you to back up worlds and addons using "BYOS" via third party cloud storage providers (such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive). We request limited permissions (such as dedicated app folders or specific file access) to ensure the application only accesses files it creates for backups. During the authorization process, the application may temporarily fetch your connected account's email address directly from the provider to display the connected account status locally within the application user interface. We do not transmit this email address or your backup files to our own servers. Data passes directly from your local machine to your chosen cloud storage provider.
5. User Feedback & Diagnostic Reports (Optional)
We provide features that allow you to voluntarily submit feedback or diagnostic reports directly to us to help resolve issues and improve Bedrock Manager:
A. User Feedback Submissions
When you choose to submit in app feedback (via Settings > About > Send Feedback), the payload is sent securely to our database. We collect:
- Your star rating (1 to 5) and optional written comments.
- Application version, platform (operating system), and UI language.
- An anonymous client ID (a randomly generated UUIDv4 saved locally on first run) to organize submissions.
If you are logged into a Cloud Sync account, your authentication token is attached to link the feedback to your profile. Otherwise, feedback is submitted anonymously.
B. Addon Install Failure Reports
If you encounter an issue where an addon fails to install or is only partially installed, you may choose to submit a diagnostic report by clicking the Report Problem button in the installation log. When submitted:
- Scrubbed Diagnostic Logs: We collect the installation log details, failure codes, and error messages. Before transmission, the application automatically sanitizes free form strings to scrub local paths, emails, and security tokens or API keys.
- Addon Metadata: We collect the name and manifest contents (such as version numbers, dependency lists, and other pack declared metadata) of the affected addon. We do not collect the actual addon source files or raw local file paths.
- System & Client Identifiers: We collect the application version, operating system platform, UI language, and the anonymous client ID to help group reports. This data is transmitted anonymously and is not linked to any personal user accounts.
6. Updates & External API Calls
The application checks for new version updates by periodically pinging our own update servers to download new binaries and changelogs. This process does not transmit personally identifiable information.
7. Website Analytics (This Website)
This website (separate from the desktop application) uses privacy friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic, such as how many people visit and which pages are popular. We rely on privacy focused, third party analytics providers for this purpose. These tools:
- Set no cookies and do not store any identifiers in your browser, so no cookie consent banner is required.
- Collect only aggregate, anonymous metrics, for example page views, referring sites, approximate country, browser, device type, and clicks on our download buttons.
- Do not collect personally identifiable information and do not track you across other websites.
8. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' data, we will notify you through an in-app notice or via an update on this website.
